During weekday rush, the same trip can stretch to 65 or 75 minutes. Late at night, after 10 p.m., you may see times closer to 30 minutes. Some drivers prefer the 105 to the 110 because it avoids the tight Sepulveda tunnel lanes near the airport.
Traffic reality and when to add buffer
The I-110 north is a primary commuter route. It slows hard from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and again from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Downtown exits near 6th Street, 9th Street, and the Convention Center back up quickly. Events at Crypto.com Arena, the Los Angeles Convention Center, or the Music Center can add extra delay. I advise adding 25 to 35 minutes of buffer if your pickup falls between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on a weekday. Saturday arrivals usually move faster, though downtown construction or arena events can still narrow lanes.
